International English Choirs (IEC) is a network of community choirs across Germany. We now have 7 choirs and over 400 members, and we're starting a new one right here in Düsseldorf.
No auditions. No experience necessary. This is a social group first and a choir second, open to anyone 18 or older who wants to sing.
What it’s like
We sing songs everyone knows: Adele, Queen, Elton John, Imagine Dragons. No sheet music reading required, we teach everything by ear during rehearsal and even give you practice materials for home.
We start simple. New choirs begin with easy two-part arrangements, just two voice lines, so everyone can join in right away regardless of singing background. As the choir grows, we move into full four-part (SATB) arrangements.
Singing is only half of it. Members spend time together outside of rehearsal too: dinners, game nights, and other social events organized by the group itself.
